Laundry 101
At Fresh Laundry Company, we do a lot of laundry—you could say we're experts! Here’s our go-to guide for laundry basics, from temperatures to fabric care and symbols.

Wash Cycle Temperatures
What water temperature should I use for towels? Does hot water shrink clothes? What’s best for delicates? These are common laundry questions, and knowing the right temperature for each fabric is key to getting the best results. Here's a quick breakdown of when to use hot, warm, cold, or cool water!

Hot (40-60°C / 104-140°F) – Best for whites, towels, bedding, and heavily soiled items. Helps remove stains and kill bacteria.
Warm (30-40°C / 86-104°F) – Ideal for everyday laundry, balancing effective cleaning with fabric care.
Cool (20-25°C / 68-77°F) – Helps maintain color vibrancy and prevent shrinking. Suitable for lightly worn/soiled clothes.
Cold (≤30°C / ≤86°F) – Recommended for delicate fabrics, dark colors, and items prone to fading or shrinking.

When in doubt, check the care label—your clothes know what they need!

Sorting and Separating
Sorting your laundry helps protect your clothes and ensures a more effective wash!

Start by separating items based on color—dark colors (like black, navy, and red) should go together, while light colors (white, pastels, and beige) need their own load to prevent any dye transfer.

Next, separate delicate fabrics from heavier items like towels and jeans to protect them during the wash.

If possible, wash heavily soiled items separately to ensure a deeper clean.

And don't forget to check care labels for any special instructions!
